Some Facts about Covid-19 (Coronavirus Infection)

Covid-19 (Coronavirus infection) is an acute infectious disease mainly attacking the respiratory system. In India, the first case was detected on 30th January 2020. Since then, the number of cases are rapidly increasing everyday. The maximum number of cases are found in states namely Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Rajasthan, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The upper repiratory system is first involved with symptoms such as blockage of nose, running nose, dry cough and fever. This may also be associated with nausea, vomiting, chest pain and difficulty in breathing. The main systemic and respiratory symtoms caused by Covid-19 infection are dependent on the age of the patient and the status of the patient’s immune system.

The AYUSH Ministry has issued an advisory and recommended that homoeopathic medicines could help in prevention of novel coronavirus infection. It has recommended homoeopathic medicine Arsenicum album 30 to be taken on empty stomach for three consecutive days as a prophylactic medicine against the infection. The dose should be repeated in the same schedule after one month till the pandemic persists. Other medicines such as Bryonia, Rhus tox, Gelsemium, Eupatorium, Camphor are prescribed on the basis of symptoms present in a positive Coronavirus patient.
